RESTART RULE
Restart Rule Prior to 2010, during a restart after a caution period the Prototype and GT classes would be mixed in with each other which in turn caused traffic issues. In the 2010 season the rule was changed to where during the last lap of a caution, all of the prototypes form a line on the right side of the track and the GT cars form a line on the left side. The GT cars then would fall into line behind the last prototype. It is the same with the GS and ST cars in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge. These rule changes lead too much better restarts and much less confusion and headaches between the different classes.
